The Research Chair in Obesity is the first and sole of its kind in Canada. The Chair is involved with the Obesity and Metabolism axis of the Hôpital Laval Research Centre as well as with the Quebec City’s Groupe interdisplinaire de recherche sur l’obésité (GIRO), which consolidates multidisciplinary basic and clinical initiatives in obesity in different locations: Université Laval’s campus, CHUL, and Hôpital Laval Research Centre. All Chair collaborators and their trainees are also members of the GIRO.
